The Millennium Point project was developed in partnership with the public and private sectors and spearheaded by Birmingham City Council, the University of Central England and Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The cost of designing, constructing and fitting out Millennium Point, including Thinktank, the Birmingham science museum, and the IMAX® Cinema, was £114 million. A total of £100 million was raised from the public and private sectors and the balance was covered by a commercial bank loan.
The partners made an initial contribution of £8.4 million to the project costs.
