CONSTRUCTION LEADER IS HAPPY TO BE HOUSED AT MILLENNIUM POINT
A chairman of a global property and construction practice who was part of the design and construction team that helped to build Millennium Point, is being profiled by the venue in the lead up to its 10th birthday celebrations.
David Bucknall, chairman of Rider Levett Bucknall, is taking part in the ‘My Millennium Point’ campaign which aims to discover the many different types of people that use the venue.
After successfully delivering the project on time and within budget, Rider Levett Bucknall moved into an office space on the forth floor at Millennium Point and has been based at the Eastside location for the past eight years.
David said: “We have over 80 offices throughout Oceania, South East Asia, USA, UK and Europe but our Birmingham office feels special because we were part of the team that helped to build it.
“I regularly bring my American and newly New Zealand based grandchildren to Thinktank and also to the cinema at Millennium Point – it is considered by them to be a “must do” on any of their many visits to the Midlands.
“I have loved being a part of Millennium Point for the last ten years. A stand out moment for me was the stunning, innovative Shakespeare play performed by the School of Acting to celebrate its arrival in the building shortly after it opened.”
Karen Steed, acting chief executive of Millennium Point, said: “All of our tenants are passionate about what has been achieved at Millennium Point over the last ten years.
“It’s great to see that companies such as Rider Levett Bucknall continue to feel that Millennium Point is a uniquely special place to work, combining the close proximity to the city centre with the fantastic additional facilities that this building has to offer.”
