A new membership scheme has been launched by Birmingham Museums to give fans of its world-class attractions the opportunity to benefit from exclusive offers and discounts.

The membership scheme gives visitors one year’s free entry to the museums and heritage attractions that house Birmingham’s world-class collections.

The scheme has been launched to attract a wider audience to Birmingham’s attractions, including Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery and Thinktank Science Museum, as well as heritage sites including Aston Hall, Blakesley Hall, the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter, Sarehole Mill, Soho House and Weoley Castle.

Visitors can choose from the basic Membership package, which enables free entry to Birmingham Museums’ heritage sites and free entry to exhibitions run by Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery. Members will also enjoy a 10% discount in Birmingham Museums’ cafes and shops, as well as receiving privileged advance information on upcoming events, exhibitions and displays.

A Membership Plus package offers all of the benefits of the basic membership as well as free annual entry to the award-winning Thinktank Science Museum. Dedicated visitors can become life members for a one-off fee.

Dr Ellen McAdam, Director of Birmingham Museums Trust, said: “Birmingham’s museums and historic properties provide a showcase for the best civic collection in England. From butterflies to Burne Jones and steam engines to the Staffordshire Hoard there’s something for everyone.

This new membership scheme presents a fantastic opportunity for people to engage with and support Birmingham’s heritage whilst benefiting from exclusive benefits.

“The new membership scheme is value for money, giving visitors free-entry for a year, to our attractions for an annual fixed cost.”

The new membership scheme has been launched as an expansion of the former Thinktank Annual Pass, which proved a huge hit among visitors. Annual Pass holders will become Trust Members as part of the launch of the new scheme.

Annual Membership costs £25 for adults, £18 for children and concessions, or £54 for a family pass. Joint membership is also available for £42 per year. A lifetime membership is £350 or £250 for people over 65.

Membership Plus packages cost £38 for adults per year, £28 for children and concessions, or £85 for families. Joint Membership Plus passes cost £64 for adults, with lifetime passes costing £500 or £350 for over 65s.
