Work Point : What, Where and Why? In January, we announced our brand new office and co-working space, set to launch at Millennium Point - but what's it all about? WHAT IS IT? Work Point is a brand new, flexible working space on level 4 of our iconic building. Featuring eight hot desks, with flexible monthly and daily passes available, and a vibrant, open-plan co-working space for up to 16 members, Work Point is the perfect space to grow your company surrounded by like-minded SMEs and entrepreneurs. The small offices overlook Eastside City Park and Curzon Street Station; the world’s oldest railway terminus and future site of HS2. Work Point is set to open in spring this year. Judith Armstrong, Millennium Point’s CEO comments “Work Point is the next ‘piece’ of the Millennium Point package, which already offers top-grade offices, unique event spaces, from corporate meeting rooms to an auditorium, and is home to some of the city’s most recognisable STEM institutes, including Birmingham City University and Think Tank Science Museum. Businesses who choose Work Point will thrive in a STEM-focussed environment brimming with activity, opportunity, education and growth.” Works began on Work Point in January 2018 This fully equipped space also features meeting room and breakout spaces, secure storage and mail handling services as well as a kitchenette and superfast Wi-Fi throughout. WHY CO-WORKING SPACES? WHY NOW? Millennium Point was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 2002 Here at Millennium Point, we know how important micro businesses and SMEs are to the region’s economic growth—particularly within the next 10 years. With a widening skills gap there is an essential need to develop a nurturing environment to support young talent, ensuring we retain the key skills in our city. Millennium Point is investing in the next generation of young talent through Work Point by providing flexible co-working in a supportive STEM environment. Since its inception in the late 1990’s, Millennium Point has existed to facilitate growth and change in the city. Starting as the catalyst for regeneration in Eastside, our iconic building is now the anchor in the middle of a thriving knowledge quarter. Through the building and profits from our commercial activity, we support a variety of projects and organisation who support STEM in the West Midlands. Work Point is due to open in spring 2018.
