A panel of industry experts discuss the future of the events industry in a post lockdown world.

As the events industry prepares itself for the next stage in the easing of lockdown restrictions, and the return of indoor events from 17th May, Birmingham’s Millennium Point is bringing together experts from across the sector to debate the future of events in a post lockdown world.

Talking Point: The Future of Events is a free, two-hour hybrid conference taking place both online and in-person at Millennium Point’s newly refurbished Auditorium on Wednesday 26th May, from 2pm – 4pm.

Featuring perspectives from across the industry the conference will demonstrate a hybrid event in action and provide valuable insights and a platform to debate the road to recovery, current trends, sustainability, and the impact of Covid-19 on customers’ relationships to events and hospitality.

Meet the Host 

Neil will lead the discussions over the two panels bringing his more than 22 years experience in events and hospitality industry. He has organised and managed events across the globe as well as founding global events network, The Delegate Wranglers.

Panel 1 – Events & Hospitality: Roadmap to Recovery (2pm-3pm)
Following more than a year of unprecedented uncertainty, what does the road to recovery for events and hospitality look like? In this one-hour panel, we will be discussing what the next 18 months will look like for the industry, including expected trends; changing attitudes, innovations, and roadblocks.

This panel features Rebecca Delmore, Commercial Director at Millennium Point, Jo Parkin, Executive Assistant to CEO of Alpro, Paul Colston, Managing Editor at Mash Media and Chris Peacock, Co-Founder of Conference Care.

Panel 2 – Going Green: The Importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (3pm-4pm)
Environmental sustainability and responsibility have gained considerable traction over the past year. The demand for “going green” is becoming increasingly prominent in our industry, but what does that mean? In this one-hour panel, hear a range of views on the growing demand for sustainable events, and the challenges and opportunities of hybrid events, the impact of green initiatives such as clean air zones and the future for the industry.

This panel features Victoria Webb, Sales Manager at Millennium Point Events, Andrew Perolls, CEO of Greengage Solutions, Chris Peacock, Co-Founder of Conference Care and Anne Shaw, Director of Network Resilience.
