We have continued to put employee’s wellbeing first by completing the Thrive at Workplace Wellbeing Bronze Award.
What is Thrive at Work?
Thrive at Work is a workplace wellbeing award programme that is helping workplaces around the Midlands to focus on health and wellbeing at work. Employers that gain the accreditation to Thrive at Work are recognised as being committed to excellence in employee mental health and wellbeing. The Thrive at Work is a standard of good practice and a quality mark of health and wellbeing at work.
Working towards healthy wellbeing
Our organisation will continue to build on the well-being of staff. The Thrive team are already working towards the silver accreditation, with the aim to complete it next year.
Vanessa Currie, Head of People, Learning and Development said ‘We are extremely proud to have been awarded the Bronze level of the Thrive at Work certification. As an employer, we recognise the immense importance of ensuring that all team members can define what support they need or want for their own health and well-being. Our Thrive team here at Millennium Point have worked hard to ensure that the focus on health and well-being is at the heart of our culture and a part of our everyday life.’
We are now also starting to work on the Silver level of the Thrive at Work accreditation. We would strongly recommend this programme to other organisations and if you would like to find out more, please click here for more detail on the programme.
Our work to achieve the Thrive Bronze award
The Thrive team had to ensure the criteria was met before being awarded, this included:
-Surveying team members on what they wanted the Thrive team to focus on and then delivering what was requested.
-Providing health and wellbeing information for team members on a variety of topics – alcohol awareness/ smoking cessation/ healthy eating/ exercise.
-Running a series of planned campaigns including one on muscular skeletal awareness with an on-site physio providing bespoke exercises for individuals.
-Updating policies and introducing new ones that support health and wellbeing and sharing these with all team members.
-Running master classes on mental health awareness and supporting flexible working and attendance for line managers.
-Training team members as mental first aiders and domestic abuse champions.

Now you have been at Millennium Point a couple of weeks, have you got a favourite event space yet?
Marie-Claire – ‘The Auditorium and Platform! There is nowhere else in the Midlands that is comparable to the Auditorium. The Auditorium is so impactful and offers such a range of technical provisions for clients. Platform looks like it belongs on a spaceship, and I like the different aspects of the space and that is manages to blend itself perfectly to all event types. I have never seen a space transform so much from an exhibition to an awards ceremony so effectively.’
Vik, the Event Sales Manager, adds ‘I couldn’t agree more! The giant screen creates the wow factor, and it offers clients a great alternative to a traditional cabaret layout. However, I would add that our space Connect has versatility which makes it a client favourite for a breadth of smaller events. from board and team meetings right through to workshops, training and away days.’
Millennium Point has a range of versatile event spaces, suitable for any event. Take a look at our available spaces on our website.
What’s your favourite part of events?
Marie-Claire – ‘I love working with new people and the fact that every day and every event is different. Events can be though-provoking and challenging but never boring.’
What’s your dream event you wish you could plan?
Marie-Claire – ‘yet to plan a large-scale exhibition and although this wouldn’t be a ‘dream’ event for me to plan it would certainly be something new and exciting for me.
