Elf (2003) with Cocktails
Giant Elves have taken over The Millennium Point this December and they’re making cocktails!
Join Tony and the team at The Wine Events Company as they shake up a snow globe of festive cocktails to drink alongside a unique showing of this modern classic Christmas movie.
Buddy (Will Ferrell) was accidentally transported to the North Pole as a toddler and raised to adulthood among Santa’s elves. Unable to shake the feeling that he doesn’t fit in, the adult Buddy travels to New York, in full elf uniform, in search of his real father. As it happens, this is Walter Hobbs (James Caan), a cynical businessman. After a DNA test proves this, Walter reluctantly attempts to start a relationship with the childlike Buddy with increasingly chaotic results.
Expect four delicious cocktails, in-jokes, cheeky banter and movie trivia by the stocking load served alongside this zany Christmas comedy movie. The movie will be paused at appropriate moments to serve you your next Christmas themed cocktail whilst the team on stage demonstrate how to make the cocktail at home.
Tickets are £39.95 per person (plus booking fee). This covers a £10 ticket for a screening on our giant screen plus four themed cocktails and a hosted experience consisting of drink and movie trivia. Additional drinks and snacks can be purchased at our fully licenced bar.

About this event
We’ve got a little bonus event to finish off BDF 2023 – and what a bonus it is. On Saturday 10th June, Oliver Jeffers will be back on stage to present the 2020 film Here We Are: Notes For Living on Planet Earth based on the book of the same name alongside Director Philip Hunt.
Oliver and Philip first worked together on BAFTA-winning Lost & Found, an adaptation of one of Oliver’s first picture books 15 years ago. After the screening of Here We Are, held at the majestic Giant Screen, we’ll be delving deeper into the relationship between Oliver and Studio AKA and the process of bringing his wonderful picture books to life.
This event will be free to attend, and we encourage families to join us for the screening, which will be roughly 35 minutes. Once the film has finished, there will be a short break, after which we will be sitting down for a Q&A with Oliver and Philip. The Q&A will be aimed at folks looking to learn more about the development process of the film, so may be uninteresting for young children.
