Large, Flexible Spaces and the “Esport Tournament Experience”
Millennium Point boasts 17 flexible event spaces adaptable to the scope and budget of your esports tournament including our 354-seat auditorium (formerly an IMAX) with a breathtaking giant screen, perfect for capturing those nail-biting team fight or epic clutch wins. Spaces can be used in multiple ways with plenty of opportunity for green rooms for athletes, break-out activities like games rooms, chill-out zones or exhibition areas for merchandise and sponsors. With an abundance of space combined with our safety measures, social distancing will be easy to implement without compromising the “Esports” vibe.
Millennium Point is an ideal location for small to medium-sized esports tournaments with plenty of open space, central location in Birmingham City centre and affordable prices. Don’t just take our word for it – Millennium Point is home to the annual major UK fighting game tournament VSFIGHTING which welcomes hundreds of competitors and fans from across the globe to Birmingham, as well as being streamed online to thousands of fans worldwide.
“As the hosts for one of the largest open esports events in Europe, we’re keen to use venues that offer a memorable experience. With it’s unique and striking spaces, Millennium Point is unlike anywhere else which is why we’ve come back for our annual event 3 years running. In addition to the space itself, the venue staff have been fantastic year on year, going above and beyond to make sure we have the best possible experience. From troubleshooting to accommodating our needs, we’ve had brilliant experiences time after time working with them on our events; we can’t recommend it enough.” – Justin Xavier, Managing Director for Electronic Dojo & Organiser for VSFIGHTING.
Power, lots of power
Unsurprisingly, one of the key requirements for an esports tournament is a stable and robust power system. Millennium Point is home to several tech-heavy events including hackathons, esports tournaments, podcasting conventions and live performances. We’ve invested heavily in our power infrastructure which can support an abundance of PCs and consoles, AV equipment and peripherals.
Technology and a Tech-Savvy team
Millennium Point’s spaces Connect, Platform and Auditorium are all equipped with AV built-in. Additional staging and tech can also be hired in through our trusted suppliers if you don’t have your own. We have an onsite dedicated AV team, tech-savvy (obviously) experienced in delivering tech-heavy events who will be on-site to support your team and ensure seamless integration and stability throughout the event.
Millennium Point has super-fast internet in all of our spaces with a mix of private and public networks to ensure no packet loss, and to provide dedicated connections for your operations team and athletes, while fans and exhibitors can enjoy the robust public wifi for their own needs. As we mentioned, we host many tech-focused events including hackathons and esports tournaments so our networks are tested and robust.
Live Video Streaming
Millennium Point has recently launched our own dedicated live video streaming service bolt-on. This service allows you to manage social distancing and maximise your online audience with HD video streaming hosted on our website. Your audience will have exclusive access to the stream which means you will have a dedicated platform should you want to level up your tournament with exclusive interviews, behind-the-scenes spotlights or interactive elements, in addition to public streaming on platforms such as Twitch, Youtube and Facebook Gaming.
